Orange and red

Once I got crazy. I wanted to try if I can draw a whole pic with just that cross-lining -shading style, using Colortime markers with limited color range. Drew this on A5 paper.

No sketches or refs. I never use them because I am stupid and can't stare photos of real things when I draw, although I should. It just tells me how less I really know about what I draw (what should be good... isn't it?).

Spent maybe two days with this. At some point I asked my twin Fiendisher what to do to make the mane to 'pop' there, so he suggested to put some violet there. So we got a deeper shading there and therefore a darker mane. My patience wasn't the best with the long lines that were needed to create that neck area (mane again), but at least I focused to the face as best as I can.

At the end I don't know how good or bad this stack of marker draws is. Itäs same as with all my works, that I don't call just 'stupid sketch doodle'. This is not a sketch doodle, I say. Because I don't use two days to one sketch and then add there colors and all the details I can. It's what I do for 'actual works'.





...I can't overcome the feeling that I see an anatomy mistake what came thanks to the angle of the horse's head. In fact this is full of fails. Maybe installing mistakes everywhere is a part of my art style?
